Thanksgiving Day was so fun... We went out to Hilliard, Florida to a friend's house... basically, they live on some property out there that our church owns and they keep it up, etc. It's gorgeous out there and a perfect get together spot for several families. We played ball, talked, ate. The kids ran around, they rode bikes, they rode on the golf cart, had a small parade and we even had a hayride!
The next morning our family took off to Georgia on a camping trip it got down to 28, yes I said 28 degrees the first night... We were so bundled up in our tents and let me tell you I questioned what we were doing out there that night... We hiked a bit the next day. It was quite the adventure and I am not sure if I'm yet ready to say I had a wonderful time, but I know it was good for the kids to be in nature, etc... here are some pics for you!

Thank you, LORD. How could I ask for more?
I know it's not Thanksgiving Day, but there's so much to be thankful for, I'm starting early!
O give thanks unto the Lord; for He is good; for His mercy endureth forever! 1Chronicles 16:34
Love these lyrics by Cindy Morgan:
There's nothing like the warmth of a summer afternoon
Waking to the sunlight, and being cradled by the moon
Catching fireflies at night
Building castles in the sand
Kissing Mama's face goodnight
Holding Daddy's hand
Thank you Lord, how could I ask for more
Running barefoot through the grass
A little hide and go seek
Being so in love, that you can hardly eat
Dancing in the dark, when there's no one else around
Being bundled 'neath the covers, watching snow
Fall to the ground
Thank you Lord, how could I ask for more
So many things I thought would bring me happiness
Some dreams that are realities today
Such an irony the things that mean the most to me
Are the memories that I've made along the way
So if there's anything I've learned
From this journey I am on
Simple truths will keep you going
Simple love will keep you strong
Cause there are questions without answers
Flames that never die
Heartaches we go through are often blessings in disguise
So thank you Lord, oh thank you Lord
How could I ask for more.
We truly have so so much to be thankful to God for...
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Oh, and here's a look at my two turkeys today!

The flip side.
Play using Simon Says from Piggy Tales...
alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5407740065960976626" />
I was working with the Simple Simon line from Piggy Tales and wanted to make something from it that isnt school themed, like the line is...
So, I used the flip side of one of the foiled, striped papers from this line... the back of the paper is this great teal color and the stripes on the front have made these wonderful striped embossed lines on the teal side that I decided to sand. Next, I used the back of the two round barndoors from the set. I cut out the centers, turned them over and used brown ink on the backs.
Also, I used the back sides of the chipboard letter centers to embellish my flowers.
The rubon flowers I actually rubbed onto tracing paper and cut out for a different texture.
tfl! and hope you're having a great day~!

Simple Simon
I just finished up with these projects using the new Simple Simon collection from Piggy Tales... still working on my layout with this line which I'll share another time!
Be sure to check out the Piggy Tales blog for a look at other inspiration and ideas!
Here's my school set:
A little info on the pencil bouquet..
The pencil bouquet was so fun to make. I used rubons on some of the pencils and wrapped others with patterned paper. I also tied some chipboard elements around a few of the pencils. The bouquet is made from a styrofoam cone I bought at the craft store. I used scotch mounting tape around the cone then wrapped the cone with patterned papers. Stick in your pencils. Wrap strips of patterned papers around a pencil to twirl and add at the bottom of your cone where the pencils have been inserted. tfl!
