Gifts from India

Hi everyone!  My brother, his wife, and four wonderful children are currently in the process of adopting another child.  Here's a picture of Josh, Amy and their children.

So, as a way of helping them with the costs of adoption, we have opened a little online store - GIFTS FROM INDIA where we are selling some lovely handmade products from India.

What is so cool about these products is that each card and journal is handmade by women artisans in India who are making an income that provides for their families in numerous ways. The proceeds from your purchase help these Indian artisans as well as my brother and his family with the process of adopting a child.

Here's a peek at a few items.   I know my brother and sister-in-law (love) are preparing their hearts and home to welcome a child from another part of the world.  Thanks for checking out the goods!

Hand constructed from locally sourced handmade paper by one of 6 women from the slums of Jaipur, India. They are 5"x4" and come in an espresso colored box of 10 folded cards and envelopes. Paper is made from recycled cotton.
Each box has a photo and the story of an artisan who made it!
All box sets of cards sell for 10.00.

Journals are made from handmade cotton paper and are hand constructed by one of 6 women from the slums of Jaipur, India. They contain 48 sheets, for 96 pages of writing space. They are 5” wide and 7” tall.
Each journal has a photo and the story of an artisan who made it!
Each journal is 15.00

Thanks so much, Charity

And today we...

Both kids have been out of school for just a few days now.  It's been so rainy that we had to get out to the park on this sunny morning!

This afternoon we made some chocolate cupcakes and decorated them- then, gobbled them up!

Hope  you're having a good summer!

Made this for the Cricut Circle a while back and wanted to share it today.  I was inspired by this blog and her paper cone wreath

I decided to try the technique and use my Cricut to cut all the cones for me- it made the work go a lot faster!  Here's the final product.  It's hanging in my kitchen. tfl!
